It's been a while since I've written here. My baby died...
After like what it seems now 100 hospital appointments, ultrasounds and the amnio, the dreaded diagnosis was confirmed - Trisomy 18 ( Edward's syndrome) which is a fatal chromosomal disorder.
So we decided to let her go ( God knows, no parent should be forced to make such a decision). We had to go hospital first and have an injection to stop her heart (we nearly lost our minds from sorrow). And then finally,on Saturday 19th, I delivered my babygirl Anya. The whole thing was quite beautiful, actually... Throughout the whole pregnancy I was preparing and hoping for a natural birth after my traumatic Cesarean experience with Mya. And in a way, I got it. My amazing husband was with me all the way, plus I hired a doula (birth supporter) who is now a wonderful family friend..

So, yea, we've been through hell. Sometimes I still wake up and hope it was all a big nightmare but Anya's grave at the cemetery around the corner tells me otherwise..

I guess there isn't much point for this blog now as it was meant to be my journey to a natural birth. I will not, however, delete it. I will leave it for all you ladies who are on the way there and are in search of information and encouragement. For all pregnancy, labor and baby related stuff, please visit my squidoo pages.
Once I am a bit stronger, I will also start writing about my experience of losing a baby and my encounter with Edward's syndrome.

For now, here is my new blog where I will be sharing my journey to recovery (if that's ever possible)-http://irbit.wordpress.com

Ok, I have finally started working on my Labour and delivery:Your guide to childbirth web page. That keeps me away from googling and driving myself insane :)

I am having a bad day today... Bloody google...My hubby promised to come to my workplace and throw out my computer out of the window :). Further tests revealed more uncertainty which I will have to deal with for the next 4 months. I am so exhausted. This pregnancy is sooooo different from my previous and full of negativities.

Well, I had my anomaly and uterine artery doppler scan today.Turns out, I have a 2 vessel cord and the baby's stomach is slightly smaller than it should be. They have scheduled me for a scan next week to be done by my consultant. So I have to wait and see what happens...
Am gutted but am staying well clear of google lol...

Well, I am officially 20 weeks pregnant today! WE know what it means -better start looking out for the dreaded PRE-ECLAMPSIA symptoms :( As of today I will be monitoring my BP twice a day and start using my dipsticks to check for proteinuria.

Other than that, I am feeling fine. Am looking forward to my scan next Monday to check for any anomalies and find out the sex of the baby (hopefully :)
